Pianist Syme in Demand

American pianist David Syme has become a familiar figure on the Irish concert circuit in recent years. David divides his time between homes in Houston, Texas and Adrigole on the Beara Peninsula in West Cork. In Beara, David frequently throws open his home for concerts, Maureen O’Hara has been a guest, and Christy Moore has been a guest and an impromptu performer, In July 2011, one of David’s ‘at home’ concerts was featured by presenter Marty Kennedy on RTÉ’s Nationwide.

David enjoys an international career as a performer and recording artist. He has recorded 25 concertos with such orchestras as the Royal Philharmonic, London Philharmonia, the Vienna Symphony and the Czech National Symphony. He specialises in the work of Gershwin, and his rendition of the composer’s Concerto in F is regarded by as the definitive version of the piece.
